Chanel S/S 2012

I did promise you guys some fashion didn’t I? I know that my tardiness in posting the s/s 2012 collections is just shameful.

This was one of my favorite shows because: “Florence Welch arose like Botticelli’s Venus on the half shell to sing ‘What the Water Gave Me’”—had to copy that from Tim Blanks’ review at style.com because it is most apt. I just love it when fashion and music are in sync. How you may ask? Well, while one of my favorite ginger-haired singers was belting out her new single, models sashayed down the runway wearing Chanel’s new s/s line. All of this was happening at The Grand Palais which was transformed into one huge bigger-than-life aquarium.

Fitting really when you see some of the clothes. Some of the models really looked like mermaids! (Not really, but I like to think so. Lol.)

Here are my favorites:

Love this! An 80s like jacket (it may just be me, but I am reminded of Vanilla Ice. Anyone else?) with a pencil skirt embellished with ribbons that remind me of a mermaid’s fin and futuristic yet aquatic booties. I see myself wearing this to the grocer’s. JUST KIDDING.

I was in high school when ol’ Marc Jacobs made it cool for guys to wear skirts. I would never date a guy wearing the skirt pictured above. I would however date Marc Jacobs in that skirt. And I would date myself in that skirt. EVERYONE would date me in that top. YOU KNOW IT!

Did any of you have a barbie doll of Ariel when you were younger? Well, I did. She had this mermaid fin skirt that you could put on and remove when you wanted her to be human. Those ribbons remind me of her skirt. See picture below for comparison.
Do you see it? Eh, maybe it’s just me…

But of course, it’s Chanel. So here are my tweed-orites. Faveweeds? Eh, forget it. Here are tweed favorites:

Shiny, shimmering scales and pearls. That’s class.

So beautiful! I want to take this dress out for a spin around the dance floor.

I love this and would totally wear this to the office! Or to a dinner. Or to a trip to the farmer’s market… Would totally pull it off too.

This reminds me of the Nutcracker. I’d be a total ballbuster in this outfit. Metaphorically of course. Not literally. Maybe not metaphorically either. And I wonder why I’m single, sheeesh.

Jackie O meets Twiggy meets Audrey Hepburn meets ME.

And the closing salvo…

Adooorbzzzz!! Lucky Flo!

PROUD SISTER!

Quick break from all the international artists, designers and labels that I admire.

I want to dedicate this entry to my amazing younger sister, who recently designed Megan Young‘s dress to the launch of the Philippine franchise of the famous men’s magazine, Esquire.

Her clothing line SESA is actually a retail brand, so Megan’s dress was her first ever design for SESA Exclusive—her made-to-order arm. And the result was astounding! Megan looked her usual beautiful self, and her curves were accentuated through my sister’s stunning dress.

I can’t stop gushing even though it’s getting a little embarrassing. Stage sister anyone? Haha! I’ve said this before: you really don’t have to take my word for it. I’m a writer, I play with words (JUST KIIIDDDINNNG haha). But yeah, just so you don’t think I’m going overboard and need to be put down, check out Megan in Kathleen’s dress below. (Obvi, stole photo from Stylebible.)

Kathleen now accepts clients for SESA Exclusive, and is currently designing her best friend’s wedding gown and the entourage’s outfits! For more casual and trendy pieces, go to SESA. Check out her sites (she also has a tumblr) to get her contact details. :)

Feenin for Some Japanese Cuisine

Lately, I haven’t been able to stop dreaming of sushi, california rolls, and makis.
YES, I DREAM OF FOOD, deal with it. I bet you guys dream of food too!

So anyway, before Erville started their set that night, we were treated to some delicious food from Robot.  Here are some food pics that will have you drooling (I haven’t stopped drooling—can one get dehydrated from excessive drooling?! JK!).

Yummyyy Spicy Tuna Roll

Their sampler of 5 kinds of sushi (so fresh, so goood!)

Sea Bass (I’m so getting this again!!)

Plus, aside from food porn, the place offers interior porn! Lol. Like, I mean, you guys are totally gonna love the restaurants interiors.

Ok, I’ll just show you those, I don’t want to ruin the surprise for you. Just take my word for it when I say that the food is sooo goood. Plus, if you wanna drink and party, you don’t have to leave! The bar has a great selection of drinks and the house DJs are killers—feet killers! I can’t stop dancing, I just want to jump up, bump, and grind, and do the chicken dance! Lol.

Do you want to get your Robot on yet? They’re located on 7912 Somerset Building, Makati Avenue corner Santo Tomas Street, Makait City. They’re hard to miss, they go those white sticks coming out every which way at their entrance. Because it’s in Makati, parking is a bitch! But don’t you worry, they got valet service (ballin’ right?). So yeah, go there now! Get your eat drink and dance on!

Ernville’s Successful Album Launch

First off, a big congratulations once again to Erville for the launch of their album, Greatest Hits.

That Thursday night was so much fun, I got to meet up with some new friends of mine, namely Martin, Megan,  Tita A, Nyko, Miss Patch, and Saab.

The band performed at Robot so we had some dinner first—screw my diet, the food at this place is too good to say no to!! It was perfect really, since I was craving Japanese food the whole damn day.

Ernville opened the night with some of their hit songs for their first set. Lead vocalist Jim Bacarro brought madd energy to the place—he was jumping up and down so hard that his guitar strap fell off. It was crazy fun! Everyone at the table was tapping their feet on the floor, swaying and rocking out with the rest of the crowd. Needless to say, the band was amazing! I’m so glad I got a cd of Greatest Hits, its the perfect album to listen to when you’re cruising around town (or stuck in traffic on your way to work—as is always the case with me :| ).

Here are some pictures of that night, I was camera-less so these are all stolen from Saab’s blog. Thanks again for inviting me girl! :)

Ernville rocking out during their first set

The rambunctious crowd—Me, Megan, Tita A, Miss Patch, Martin, Nyko, and Ernville’s Jim Bacarro

The host for the night, Jam 88.3′s Suzuki

Jim Bacarro and the numero uno Ernville fan girl, his boo Saab

These kids were adorbz! Perris Wheel, one of the front acts, are apparently barely out of high school! But they’re set was awesome as well!

My blogger bit: Cardigan-Dorothy Perkins, Dress-Forever 21, Belt-Topshop, Flats-Christian Siriano for Payless, Clutch-Gap

You guys need to go out and get a copy of Greatest Hits, I’m not even kidding. Like for real, for real!
